What is your professional background?
I have a bachelor in Biochemistry from Virginia Commonwealth University. I have a foreign medical degree from the Medical University of Silesia in Poland. My past experience as a foreign doctor has planted a desire [to work in] healthcare and grown my passion for clinical research.

Which division do you work in? Who is your mentor?
I work in the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine and collaborate with the Division of Rheumatology and the Lowance Center for Immunology. My mentor for the past three years has been Dr. Frances Eun-Hyung Lee.

Briefly describe your research. Why is it important?
I have been involved in several research projects in the pulmonary and rheumatology fields. Clinical research allows doctors and scientists to develop a better understanding of various diseases. With this knowledge, they can then identify new and more effective methods of diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.  My current focus is pulmonary research, where I have been involved in a biologic vaccine study and have been studying COVID-19 vaccine responses among asthmatic patients that are currently on biologics such as mepolizumab, dupilumab, and benralizumab.

What do you like most about Emory?
There are many opportunities and reasons to love Emory. The main reasons are work-life balance, diversity, commitment to distinction, excellence, innovation, and collaboration.

What is your favorite movie or TV show?
My favorite movie is The Godfather, and my favorite TV show is Prison Break.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my free time, and especially on weekends, I enjoy spending time with my family, socializing, and catching up with sports. I love to travel to new places, meet new people, and most importantly enjoy life to the fullest.

What is a fun fact about you?
I speak several languages: English, Hindi, Gujarati, some Polish, and Spanish.
