What is your professional background?
I am a postdoctoral fellow who studies exposure to iron metabolism in humans. 

In what division do you work, and who is your mentor?
I am working in the Division of Digestive Diseases, Department of Medicine under the supervision of Associate Professor Dr. Peijian He.

Briefly describe your research. Why is it important?
The present time dietary habit involves a greater intake of sugar and fat content, which is deteriorating our health. This condition leads to the generation of numerous disease conditions, like diabetes, cardiovascular disorders, and many more. The entire plethora of diseases operate through the generation of inflammatory conditions in our bodies. Iron may be a prominent contributor to these inflammatory states and my research here at Emory University is focused on determining this association.

What do you like most about Emory?
It is my first foreign university experience being here at Emory, and I am enjoying and learning through the multicultural environment and dedicated behavior of all professionals.

What is your favorite movie or TV show?
I am an Indian cinema-loving person, but I do enjoy Marvel and all Harry Potter movies.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
I enjoy watching cricket and reading novels.

What is a fun fact about you?
I enjoy the rain and petrichor most while sipping a hot cup of ginger-flavored tea.
