Congratulations to Dr. Saria Hassan on her new role as Associate Division Director, Research, for the Division of General Internal Medicine. She will have research leadership over all GIM sections, including General Medicine at Grady, Primary Care at The Emory Clinic, and Primary Care and Quality at the VA.
As Associate Division Director for Research, Dr. Hassan will work with Dr. Ted Johnson and the General Internal Medicine Division leadership team to advance the research endeavors of the GIM faculty. She will provide vision, leadership, and strategic planning to expand the research mission of the Division.
As part of her new role, Dr. Hassan will serve as research faculty representative to the GIM leadership team. In support of research faculty, she will provide mentorship, networking opportunities, and advisory services to further their research prospects and help to recruit candidates who will enhance the Division’s research agenda. Dr. Hassan will also lead a monthly meeting of the GIM research faculty.
