Jason Van Galder named Administrator for the Division of Rheumatology

The Department of Medicine is pleased to announce that Jason Van Galder has been named administrator for the Division of Rheumatology, effective July 18.

Van Galder will be responsible for all TEC and university-based major division activities including grants and contracts, clinical operations, development and administration of TEC and university budgets, financial analysis, space management, and human resources management.

Van Galder comes to the Department of Medicine from the Winship Cancer Institute, where he served as director of operations for the last three years. In this role, he was responsible for the strategy, operations, and financial performance of the Cancer Service Lines at the Emory Decatur Operating Units, Emory Johns Creek Hospital, the Emory Clinic, and the Buford Outpatient Clinic. Previously, he held an operations administrator role in the Winship Cancer Institute and held positions as an operations administrator, senior manager, and project manager in Emory’s Department of Surgery. He started his career at Emory in 2012 as an operations analyst in the Operations Development Program.

Van Galder received his Master of Health Administration from the Medical University of South Carolina and his Bachelor of Arts in Finance from the University of Georgia.
