Tell us about your role at Emory.
I am responsible for managing all verification requests for the J. Willis Hurst Internal Medicine Residency Program. I generate letters of verification of training from financial institutions, licensing agencies or hospitals, and other healthcare facilities; process resident loan deferment request; and perform notary duties for the residency program. I work with Emory’s GME Office in processing resident annual continuing contracts and temporary state training permits for the new academic year. I also schedule semi-annual review meetings for program leadership and their advisees and ensure evaluation documentations are assigned in New Innovations. I assist with proctoring of resident annual in-training evaluation examination sessions. I also coordinate weekly or monthly committee meetings facilitated by program director or associate program directors.

How long have you worked at Emory? How long have you worked in the Department of Medicine?
I have been at Emory and the Department of the Medicine for approximately six and a half years.

How has the Department of Medicine helped you in your career development?
Within the residency program, there is a sense of teamwork where members work together to ensure the successful operation of one of the largest training programs at Emory. The leadership of the residency program encourages team members to seek job development opportunities to help advance their career goals.

What do you like most about Emory?
Emory is a dynamic and multicultural institution that has something to offer to employees at every level. It’s family orientated, and it provides wellness programs and educational curriculums for advancement.

Any random facts you could share with us?
I am an avid sports fan! I like to watch football and basketball (collegiate and professional), and tennis. I am also beginning to enjoy watching soccer.

How do you define success?
Success is the ability for you to achieve goals that you have set for yourself. Success encompasses motivation and determination to achieve that goal!
