Blake Harrington named new administrator for the Division of Cardiology

The Department of Medicine is pleased to announce that Blake Harrington, MPH will join the Division of Cardiology as the new university administrator, effective Monday, January 14.

As the division administrator, Harrington will be responsible for all university-based major division activities including grants and contracts, clinical operations, development and administration of university budgets, financial analysis, space management, and human resources management.

Harrington started his career at Emory in 2008 as an MPH student in the Rollins School of Public Health. After graduating in 2010 with a degree in health services administration, he transitioned into the Department of Surgery where he was responsible for managing complex grant portfolios for research faculty. In 2012, he moved to the Grady campus where he served in various roles within Shared Surgical Services (surgery, urology, and otolaryngology). At Grady, he has been involved in all areas of administration including HR, finance, clinical operations, and research administration. Most recently, Harrington served as the associate clinical administrator for the Shared Surgical Services unit. In his free time, he enjoys biking, woodworking, and spending time with his wife and one-year-old son.
