Mentoring Minute: The Five Types of Mentors You Need to Succeed

The Department of Medicine’s Mentoring Subcommittee is pleased to introduce our new quarterly Mentoring Minute video series. The series will aim to foster an optimal mentoring environment, share knowledge from faculty experts, and encourage discussions of the value of mentoring in academic medicine.

The first video in the series features Danielle Jones, MD, associate professor of medicine from the division of General Medicine and Geriatrics and the recipient of the 2018 Shanthi V. Sitaraman Silver Pear Mentoring Award. Dr. Jones’ video explores the importance of mentorship and the five types of mentors who are key to career advancement.

You can also look for more Mentoring Minute videos in the Department of Medicine’s Weekly Bulletin and on the mentoring webpage.
