Dominique Cosco, MD leaving Emory for Washington University in St. Louis

Dominique CoscoDominique Cosco, MD has taken a new position in the Department of Medicine at Washington University in St. Louis. Dominique will be joining the faculty as an associate professor and will be the program director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program’s primary care track. She will also serve as the director of teacher development with the Academy of Health Professions Educators at Washington University’s School of Medicine.

Dominique joined the Department of Medicine’s Division of General Medicine at Grady Memorial Hospital in 2008 after completing her internal medicine residency training at Emory. During her time in the department, she was a key member of the J. Willis Hurst Internal Medicine Residency Program’s leadership, serving as one of the associate program directors, chair of the Clinical Competency Committee, director of the Global Health Distinctions Program, and director of the Professional Development Coaching Program. She also served as the course director for the 2015 and 2016 FEED Conferences and the 2011 and 2012 Internal Medicine Board Review Course.

Her major accomplishments include: developing the remediation process for residents; expanding the Global Health Distinctions Program from a one-month elective to a two-year program; and creating the residency’s coaching program and expanding it to ensure all residents have a coach throughout their three years of residency.
