Anne Tomolo named Atlanta VA Health Care System’s new associate chief of staff for education

Anne Tomolo, MD, MPH, associate professor in the Department of Medicine has been appointed associate chief of staff for education for the Atlanta VA Health Care System.

Tomolo serves as the chief of quality for medical specialty service at the Atlanta VA Medical Center. In addition, she is the VA Quality Scholars Advanced Fellowship site director and physician senior scholar at the Atlanta VA Medical Center.

She has served as a member of the National VA Learners’ Perception steering committee from 2000 to 2008 and the National VA Emergency Medicine Field advisory committee from 2005 to 2008. Tomolo was selected to the inaugural group to represent VA at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s Managing Hospital Operations Course in 2006 and has served as a faculty member, planning committee member and coach for local, regional, and national VA system redesign initiatives related to patient flow.

The Department of Medicine is fortunate to have such a talented faculty member and leader who constantly makes a positive impact on the department, the university, and the Atlanta community. Please join us in congratulating Tomolo on her new role.
