Join the DOM for the inaugural Health Equity Day!

The RYSE Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council invites all members of the Emory community to submit an abstract for the inaugural DOM Health Equity Day Tuesday, May 11, 2021 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Eligible community members include faculty, staff, trainees, medical students, graduate students, and undergraduate students. A DOM presenting author is required for all submissions. The public is welcome to register and attend.

This half-day conference aims to raise awareness and encourage action around the systemic health disparities that exist across racial, ethnic, cultural, and social groups, while also recognizing interventions and research across the department centered on health equity and historically underrepresented groups in medicine. The event brings together stakeholders from all divisions and ranks, providing a platform to share compelling new findings, facilitate scientific exchange, and identify opportunities for collaboration.

The event includes poster presentations, a case competition, a keynote address, and a narrative pre-event.

Keynote Speaker

Lisa Cooper, MD, MPH
Bloomberg Distinguished Professor at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and Bloomberg School of Public Health
Director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Equity

Poster presentation categories include:

  • Research
  • Clinical Quality
  • Professional Development
