Atlanta VA Medical Center’s Chief Resident in Quality and Safety Named for 2019-2020

We are excited to announce that Dr. Abigail Watts has been named the Atlanta VA Medical Center’s Chief Resident in Quality and Patient Safety (CRQS) affiliated with Emory University for the 2019-2020 academic year. She will follow Dr. Jay Khambhati, the 2018-2019 CRQS. We look forward to the positive impact that both Dr. Watts and Dr. Khambhati will make.

The CRQS is a one year position for individuals interested in leading quality and patient safety educational sessions and gaining skills in quality improvement. The skills gained as the CRQS will be applied to a specific project during the academic year.

In addition to the CRQS program, the Atlanta VA Medical Center also has a VA Quality Scholars (VAQS) Fellowship, a two-year interprofessional program designed to develop leaders in quality improvement, health system change, and quality and safety education.

If you are interested in the CRQS or VAQS please contact Dr. Anne Tomolo at anne.tomolo2@va.gov or Dr. Krysta Johnson-Martinez at Krysta.johnson-martinez@va.gov.
